Hughes Home is looking for positive, goal-orientated professionals with a passion for caring for others.  Our internship program is an ideal stepping stone for students trying to gain professional experience and explore new/possible career opportunities in health promotion, public health, restorative therapy,  community outreach,  physical therapy, nutrition, dietetics, occupational therapy,  nursing, or related field, looking to explore future career opportunities in the health and wellness industry.

Interns have the opportunity to experience many different aspects of the health and wellness field that may include but are not limited to:

  • Resident activities of daily living care
  • Restorative Therapy
  • Comprehensive assessments
  • Individualized  programming
  • Health promotion and incentive programming
  • Health and wellness education
  • Professional development and networking
  • Nutritional assessments
  • Weight management
  • Functional movement analysis
  • Community outreach planning
  • Professional shadowing

Qualifications:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience conducting research
  • Interested in learning about the health and wellness field, preferred interest in restorative therapy and functional movement
  • Task-oriented
  • Highly motivated
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current student
